Examining an obstacle. This part was also challenging for me as I do not work in the role as yet. I decided to focus on something that affects me as a classroom teacher, that being the current information literacy levels of classroom teachers and the barrier this can create in establishing an information literate school community.
While this part was challenging I also found it a really good exercise as it forced me to examine ways in which to overcome this problem – certainly good training for the role. I found it enlightening to examine the literature as there are many practical suggestions and real world examples. I found Todd and Oberg’s writing to be particularly clear and informative.
